Galvashield CC embedded galvanic anode devices are used in concrete structures to manage ongoing corrosion and to inhibit the onset of new corrosion activity
Galvashield CC anodes are alkali-activated (Type 2A) and comprise a sacrificial zinc anode core that is activated by a specially designed precast cementitious mortar. The cylindrical device, which is available in a number of conventional sizes, is rapidly and simply put into mechanically sound but corroding concrete. When the zinc anode is inserted, it corrodes preferentially to the surrounding rebar, giving galvanic corrosion control to the neighboring reinforcing steel. For special project requirements, custom-sized units are available.
