PERM-A-BARRIER VPL is a single component polymeric barrier that forms to produce a durable, homogeneous, permanently connected elastomer sheet when applied in a fluid
PERM-A-BARRIER VPL is Fire resistant and meets NFPA 285 as part of various wall assemblies. It is plasticizer, phthalate, and halogen-free means it is safe and environmentally friendly. Its air-tight properties allow protection against air passage and associated energy losses. Meets new ASTM E2357 standard as required by IECC 2012. The Single component barrier allows for fast and easy use with simple spray equipment. It is fully bondedtransmits wind loads directly to the substrate, seamlesscontinuous membrane integrity with no laps, and provides strong adhesion to common construction substrates such as wood, block, concrete, OSB, gypsum sheathing and metal. It is also damp surface tolerant and can be applied to damp-to-touch surfaces.
For use at temperatures ranging from 20 degrees Fahrenheit (-7 degrees Celsius) to 60 degrees Fahrenheit (16 degrees Celsius), use PERM-A-BARRIER VPL LT instead. (Use a different datasheet if possible.) The PERM-A-BARRIER VPL membrane protects building structures from the destructive effects of air and liquid water infiltration. The substance forms a strong barrier against air entry and exfiltration, reducing energy loss and condensation issues. The vapor permeable PERM-A-BARRIER VPL membrane is ideal for wall assemblies that require this "breathable" property. It allows the transfusion of water vapor that would otherwise condense in the wall structure as a vapor-permeable membrane, but it is impermeable to liquid water, allowing the material to operate as a water drainage plain. The PERM-A-BARRIER VPL membrane has less than 30 g/L of volatile organic compounds (VOC).
